COMPANY HISTORY
2019
2019 was the year when a small yet tight-knit team of six set out with an ambitious mission: to become the top player of the mobile gaming industry. With not much more than their determination to guide them, this passionate bunch called itself Sunday and took on an unclear but exciting road.

2020
Fast forward to 2020 and these trailblazers had plenty of challenges ahead, such as navigating through a global pandemic! However, that didn’t stop Sunday from succeeding. After we toyed around with idle games to no clear result, we put this idea on the shelf just to strike gold right after when we released Cat Escape, our first hit game. The success it brought helped expand Sunday’s team and reach further despite all odds being stacked against us. But anything is possible if you never give up!

2021
2021 was another groundbreaking year for Sunday! After the wild success of Cat Escape and millions of global downloads, we decided to take our business up a notch and diversify the team. This was when Sunday had grown again to 25 strong innovators from all walks of life and corners of the globe. With an increased focus on publishing, 2021 became known as the year that our first publishing success, Plug Head, soared into hyper-casual gaming fame – making Sunday’s place at the top of the industry official. Ever since then, we’ve been relentlessly building our own knowledge base and a tech stack to provide our partner studios with everything they need to make another hit.

2022
2022 was a year of major milestones for Sunday, as we leapt from being an up-and-coming startup to a full-fledged hyper-casual publisher. The team expanded to 50 people and went international by opening the first office abroad in Bangalore, India; and two more in German cities of Munich & Berlin. Let’s not forget the launch of Sundash, a publishing dashboard designed specifically for our partner studios to build and test their games more efficiently. To top it off, 100,000,000 became the number of the year, as this incredible growth brought us to the milestone of over 100 mil downloads around the same time as our shareholder AppLike group received a major investment of 100 million euros!

2023
2023 is shaping up to be a big year for Sunday! With an ambition of breaking into the top 10 hyper-casual game publishers, we are sharpening our focus on that market and exploring potential collaborations within the AppLike Group. It’s been quite a journey since 2019; from humble beginnings to where we stand now – ready to take on any challenge thrown our way with confidence.
